Our Sales Team - Career Progression at Obex
In our sales team, development is the name of the game. We make sure that everyone has the opportunity to grow and to be challenged within their role, because we believe it is important to enrich your knowledge and experience, refresh yourself, and offer your own brand of excellence wherever you are in the business. We understand though that in an organisation of our size, there's not always an opportunity for our great performers to progress 'up the ladder'.
The two roles of Product Specialist and Product Manager require different skill sets, but in the past career progression tended to mean that people could only advance from Product Specialist to Product Manager. We have recognised though that due to the differences in these roles, not everyone is suited to and/or desires to move into product management.
Many of our dedicated sales people love the face-to-face contact with our customers, and expert sales people are vital to our business. With this in mind, we have developed the role of Senior Product Specialist, to recognise expertise in both the sales and product specialist areas. For those who do show expertise and desire to progress within product management, we have a Senior Product Manager role as well. These senior roles are differentiated by the capability and attributes required, and recognise a higher level of performance and practice in these areas.
