A natural haemostatic product used for the control of surgical bleeding.
HemoStase is a plant-based powder that rapidly rehydrates blood and promotes clotting on contact. HemoStase has a CE Mark for use in surgical procedures (except neurological and ophthalmic) as an adjunctive haemostatic device to assist when control of capillary venous and arterial bleeding by pressure, ligature and other conventional procedures is ineffective or impractical.
Available in a convenient, ready to use applicator, HemoStase, unlike many haemostatic agents, does not require additional operating room preparation or special storage conditions. In addition, pre-clinical studies have shown that HemoStase does not promote infection and absorbs within 24-48 hours of application at the wound site, compared to other surgical haemostats which can take three to eight weeks or more to fully break down.
Features and Benefits
Safe
HemoStase is synthesised from a purified plant polymer and contains no animal or human components. Following haemostasis, HemoStase safely resorbs through the body in less than 48 hours.
Simple
HemoStase fulfils the surgical need for haemostasis with simple efficiency. No mixing, assembly or refrigeration is required prior to use.
Effective
HemoStase rapidly absorbs fluids from the blood and accelerates the natural, physiologic clotting process for both diffuse and profuse bleeding, and in the presence of anticoagulants.
