In memory of Lindsay Spilman – a visionary leader and Co-founder of Obex Medical

It is with deep sadness that Obex acknowledge the passing of Lindsay Spilman, Co-founder of Obex Medical on Friday 9^th January, after a short illness. Lindsay was a sincerely kind person and true gentleman and a pioneering force whose vision shaped the foundation of our company and the medical device technology industry in New Zealand.

In 1983 together with Linda Robert they established Obex Medical with a shared vision to improve the lives of patients, working closely with clinicians to deliver world class technology to New Zealand. This mission is the cornerstone of our company and continues to guide us today.

Lindsay was a strategist and deep thinker driven by a strong set of intrinsic values. His entrepreneurial spirit was evident in every decision he made, and always focussed on innovation, collaboration, and integrity. Lindsay believed in building relationships that mattered, ensuring that patients and clinicians were at the heart of everything we do.

Lindsay’s legacy is not only the company he helped build, but in the countless lives touched by his vision, mentoring and leadership. His commitment to our company values, his championing of advancing clinical education, and his resolute belief in doing what was right will continue to inspire us.
