Cook® Celect™ Vena Cava Filter

Product Information

Used for the prevention of recurrent pulmonary embolism via placement in the vena cava in the following situations:

  • Pulmonary thromboembolism when anticoagulant therapy is contraindicated;
  • Failure of anticoagulant theory in thromboembolic diseases;
  • Emergency treatment following massive pulmonary embolism where anticipated benefits of conventional therapy are reduced; and
  • Chronic, recurrent pulmonary embolism where anticoagulant therapy has failed or is contraindicated.

Set consists of the following items: Preloaded filter introducer, coaxial introducer sheath system, hydrophilic coated dilator and three-way stopcock.

The filter may be retrieved according to the Instructions for Use in the section labelled “Optional Retrieval Procedure”. Retrieval of the filter can be performed only by the jugular approach.

The filter is introduced and placed via an 8.5 or 7.0 Fr coaxial introducer sheath system.

Supplied sterile in peel-open packages. Intended for one-time use.
